‘BARREL CLIMBER’ 2015 PINOT NOIR – LABEL ARTIST
Yadira Cazares is the featured label artist with “Love” for the 2015 “Barrel Climber” Sonoma Valley Pinot Noir, released in 2017 by Eric Kent Wines
The label art painting, entitled “Love”, is a response to the Black Lives Matter Movement and a salute to queer men of color.
“I believe very deeply and out of experience that Art is the power necessary to feed our spiritual/intellectual belly. As an artist, art collector, and gallery owner, I have become full and abundant. Through it, I have grown, matured and healed. I am grateful for all the beautiful community my art practice has brought into my life. I am a student, and art my teacher.” ~Yadira Cazares
Notes from the winery:
Utterly explosive on the nose, this beguiling Pinot turns from aromas of bright, spicy raspberry and red cherry to darker black fruits wound with exotic spice, smoke and earth notes. Sweet pipe tobacco, cinnamon and clove carry throughout.
Following right in step with the aromas, the palate adds plenty of fine tannins, more smoky goodness and a surprising twist of black pepper on the end. As we sat around last month sampling this wine on a beautiful Sonoma afternoon, the word we kept coming back to was “ethereal.” More savory and minerally than typical CA Pinot, this is really geeky stuff, so naturally, we love it. (If you hadn’t noticed, we’re a bunch of geeks.) We’re sure that many of you will love it too.
